Mr. Duli Chand Singhania, founder of Singhania & Co. left for heavenly abode early this morning. Earlier this month, he had celebrated his 90th birthday with close family members and friends.
DCS, as he was fondly called by friends and colleagues, established the firm Singhania & Co. in 1969. It was the first Indian Law Firm to establish international offices in the USA and UK. In November 2021, he was felicitated with Lifetime Achievement Award by the Times Magazine Excellence Iconic Awards 2021 for his contribution to the legal profession and education.
In his illustrious career as a lawyer, he served as the chairman of the Society of Indian Arbitrators and Member of Board of Directors in multiple multinational companies.
DCS was also a great philanthropist. He established Singhania University in Pacheri Bari, Rajasthan to contribute towards the progress and prosperity of the coming generations. He was a forward looking and creative citizen of India.
DCS is survived by his wife Mrs. Tarawati Singhania and their children Dr. Lata and Dr. Manoj Agarwal; Suman and Rakesh Gupta; Krishan Gopal and Nidhi Singhania; Rama and Rishabh Jain; and Ravi and Sonil Singhania, and grandchildren Hemant, Lalit, Kushang, Kunal, Srishti, Avni, Siddharth, Aditya, Rohit, and Ritika.
